The Trade-in: Synthetic chemical-containing personal care products for certified organic ones

Article by: The IQYOU Team

We all want lustrous hair as advertised in shampoo commercials and the clear radiant skin promised in skin care commercials. Although, what we don’t know is that a many of these personal care products are brimming with synthetic and chemical ingredients.

It’s time to be more selective about what products we use because; unfortunately regulation of the chemicals used in our products is scarce. For starters you should avoid products that contain the following chemicals, which boast toxic and disruptive properties: Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), Parabens: methlyparaben, propyl paraben, & ethyl paraben, Phthalates (fragrance), Formaldehyde, Toluene, Ethanolamine’s (diethanolamine/DEA, triethanolamine/TEA & monoethanolamine/MEA), and Propylene glycol.

For a more simple approach, go for certified organic products or try out these brands that we recommend: Aubrey Organics, Avalon Organics, Dr. Bronner’s, EO, J/A/S/O/N, John Masters Organics, Jurlique, Nature Girl, Nature’s Gate, and Tate. The search for the right beauty products may be a lengthier one, though it will ensure that your clean routine will actually be clean.
